H2-View News: Fortescue secures RMB14.2bn loan to revive green energy plans

The loan, the first RMB-syndicated term loan of its kind by an Australian corporate, was secured from leading Chinese, Australian and international lenders. It has been awarded in order to get Fortescue’s decarbonisation agenda back on track. Fortescue is a core supplier of iron ore to China and generates RMB revenues through its iron ore sales. Dr Andrew Forrest, Executive Chairman, said while the US steps back from investing “in what will be the world’s greatest industry”, China and Fortescue are advancing the green technology needed to lead the global green industrial revolution. “China continues to lead the world in [...]

H2-View News: Japanese partners eye methanol-derived hydrogen for clean backup power

H2 View understands the partners plan to produce hydrogen via methanol reforming, using green methanol made from CO2 and waste to decarbonise the process. Leveraging Fuji Electric’s fuel cell expertise, the system could provide backup power for data centres and factories in Japan, helping to ease peak electricity demand if brought to market. The current study aims to begin the demonstration by March 2027. “The goal is to combine two companies’ technologies and expertise to create a fuel cell system that efficiently and cost-effectively generates electricity using methanol-derived hydrogen,” Mitsubishi said in a statement. “The envisioned system will use green [...]

H2-View News: Tyckza Hydrogen breaks ground on hydrogen station in German port

The new station will provide up to 1,000kg of green hydrogen per day with 350 and 700 bar dispensing to supply heavy and light-duty vehicles. While the station will add to Tyckza’s existing refuelling infrastructure in Augsburg, it will form the first element of a wider hydrogen hub, which will feature a 5MW electrolyser plant and hydrogen trailer fleet to meet demand outside of mobility. Tyczka said the hub will represent over €20m ($23.3m) of investment, with commissioning of the production capacity expected to start at the end of 2026. The Bavarian state is backing the entire project with €7m [...]

H2-View News: GeoPura acquires Green Hydrogen Systems assets and staff, launches Danish business

The hydrogen and equipment provider said it had taken ownership of assets, including spare parts, tools, and fixtures for the A-Series electrolyser, along with former GHS staff. A transaction value has not been disclosed. The move aims to ensure GeoPura can continue operating its existing fleet of A-Series systems, rather than having to retire and swap out the technology. But it also lines the firm up for business outside of the UK. However, rather than relocating the parts and employees, the firm has set up GeoPura (Europe) in Denmark to serve as an electrolyser support hub. H2 View has contacted [...]

H2-View News: Corinth Pipeworks completes testing for IGI Poseidon’s 2,100km hydrogen pipeline

Corinth Pipeworks confirmed that the selected materials and pipeline infrastructure are suitable for the transport of 100% hydrogen at 200 bar pressures. Specifically, they tested the 30” Sawl X70 linepipe, a high-strength steel pipe used in large-scale offshore infrastructure. The engineering team tested girth welds under high hydrogen pressures, gaining insights into pipe performance. They conducted fracture toughness, slow strain rate tensile testing, fatigue lifecycle modelling for 50+ years, and an Engineering Critical Assessment (ECA), simulating the pipeline’s long-term operational conditions. IGI Poseidon reported that testing confirmed the EastMed pipeline’s functionality for over 50 years of hydrogen transport. H2 View [...]

H2-View News: CF reports $698m profit, eyes growth from 45Q-backed blue ammonia expansion

The fertiliser major posted an adjusted EBITDA of $1.41bn, up from $1.21bn in H1 2024, thanks to higher sales prices and increased production. In July, the firm started up its Donaldsonville carbon dioxide dehydration and compression facility in Louisiana to capture and permanently store up to two million tonnes of CO2 annually. The facility will produce up to 1.9 million tonnes of lower-carbon ammonia per year, with ExxonMobil handling carbon storage. “We are realising the financial benefits of investing in low-carbon ammonia production through both 45Q tax credit generation and the premium that these low-carbon tons command in the global [...]

H2-View News: SECI awards third green ammonia contract to Oriana Power at $0.60/kg

Awarded under Mode-2A, Tranch-1 of the Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (SECI) SIGHT scheme, the renewable energy firm will deliver green ammonia to Madhya Bharat Agro Products’ plant in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh. The third auction marks a continued decline in green ammonia prices in India, with a third consecutive bid in under a month coming in below ₹60/kg. Oriana Power’s $600-per-tonne green ammonia bid falls between NTPC’s ₹51.8/kg ($0.59/kg) and Acme’s ₹55.75/kg ($0.64/kg), highlighting a consistent pricing trend and a tightly contested market among leading bidders. “These milestones aren’t just numbers; they signal commercial viability, global competitiveness and a national [...]

H2-View News: Horizon Fuel Cell acquires Hyzon’s hydrogen truck IP

The Singapore-based technology firm plans to use Hyzon’s IP to continue producing hydrogen trucks and integrating its own fuel cell systems, and serve Hyzon’s customers in the US, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. “The acquisition of Hyzon vehicle IP allows us to serve [US-based] customers, and bring new revenue streams to Horizon,” explained George Gu, Chairman of Horizon Fuel Cell Group, who previously chaired Hyzon. The company has not announced a price for the acquisition. Having spun out from Horizon in 2020, Hyzon developed heavy-duty trucks and waste disposal vehicles. The US hydrogen truck maker finally collapsed earlier this year [...]

H2-View News: Uniper trims 2030 investment plans as hydrogen stalls and power auctions lag

The German energy firm logged an adjusted EBITDA of €379m ($442.8m) in H1 2025, far below the €1.74bn ($2.03bn) recorded 12 months prior. Similarly, its net income was down from €1.14bn ($1.33bn) to €135m ($158m). Despite the narrowed earnings, the company has reaffirmed its 2025 financial forecast. It expects an EBITDA between €1bn ($1.17bn) and €1.3bn ($1.52bn) and net income of €350–€550m ($409–$643m). Facing these headwinds, Uniper has “finetuned” its transformation strategy, reducing its projected investments through 2030 to around €5bn ($5.8bn). This follows a previous delay to its €8bn ($9.35bn) green energy investment target, originally set for 2030. Those [...]

H2-View News: Why food giants are willing to pay extra for Atome’s green hydrogen-based fertilisers

Atome’s CEO says food and beverage giants are ready to pay more for low-emissions fertiliser, as the firm prepares to take final investment decision (FID) on its first green hydrogen-based fertiliser project in Paraguay. Olivier Mussat told H2 View that multinationals like PepsiCo and Nestlé are looking to shift from buying carbon credits to cutting actual emissions inside their supply chains. And fertilisers, a major contributor to food system emissions, are an early target. This is a paid article, to read the article in full you can sign in if you are subscribed or subscribe today.
