India should adopt Japan’s contracts-for-difference (CfD) model to help make green hydrogen projects bankable and accelerate final investment decisions, a H2 View and gasworld webinar has heard. Air Products’ decision to build green hydrogen import infrastructure in Europe hinges on EU nations transposing green hydrogen rules under the Renewable Energy Directive (RED III), its CEO has said. Eduardo Menezes told investors the industrial gas major needs regulatory clarity before committing to ammonia import terminals or cracking plants on the continent to bring in volumes of hydrogen from its 2.2GW Neom plant in Saudi Arabia. The Oslo-headquartered firm said it had “fulfilled” the requirements set by government-owned Enova to press ahead with its developments in Kristiansund and Slagentangen. Both projects are planned to supply green hydrogen and derivatives to the maritime sector, although exact production capacities remain undisclosed. In Kristiansund, GreenH said its project at Vestbase will provide oil field equipment supplier NorSea Group’s customers with direct bunkering to reduce hydrogen transportation costs. Hydrogen Capital Growth (HGEN), which held around 12.5% of Bramble’s equity, has written down its £11m ($14.5m) holding to zero, representing 9% of its net asset value (NAV) as of 31 March 2025. Bramble had been seeking investment from third-party investors. Demand for Cummins’ electrolyser products has “dried up,” with the decline felt most sharply in the US market, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Mark Smith revealed during the company’s Q3 2025 earnings call. Smith told investors weaker order volumes created a “hole” in projections for the next couple of years, describing the downturn as a surprise. In an effort to reassure stakeholders, FPH2 said private-sector hydrogen suppliers and end-users were continuing projects despite federal funds being cancelled. The statement comes after the Alliance for Renewable Clean Hydrogen Energy Systems (ARCHES) puts its plans to build a clean hydrogen hub in California on ice, following the Department of Energy’s (DOE) termination of funding for the scheme. The 50:50 offshore wind joint venture between Japan’s Jera and BP said the Ostend Hydrogen Refuelling Station will store and dispense green hydrogen produced by Lhyfe in France and Germany.
