H2-View News: Plug Power to raise $275m through asset sales and cost cuts

This includes a new partnership with a major US data centre development, for which Plug plans to provide hydrogen fuel cell systems for power or back-up supply under a non-binding letter of intent. By selling certain electricity rights, releasing restricted cash, and reducing ongoing maintenance expenses, Plug could improve liquidity and generate greater flexibility. Electricity rights are contracts or allocations that give Plug access to purchase or use specific amounts of electricity, which it can sell or transfer to another party for cash. Plug has been experiencing financial difficulties; it recently secured a $525m loan from Yorkville Advisors to stabilise [...]

H2-View News: India urged to adopt Japan’s CfD model to make green hydrogen projects bankable

India should adopt Japan’s contracts-for-difference (CfD) model to help make green hydrogen projects bankable and accelerate final investment decisions, a H2 View and gasworld webinar has heard. Amrit Singh Deo, Senior Managing Director at FDI Consulting and advisor to the India Hydrogen Alliance (IH2A), explained that the bottleneck in projects reaching a final investment decision (FID) is not due to lack of demand, but bankability. “The answer is simple, it’s offtake – guaranteed [long-term] offtake,” he said. “Without offtake guarantees, no project is going to be bankable.” This is a paid article, to read the article in full you can [...]

H2-View News: Air Products ties European hydrogen import investments to RED III implementation

Air Products’ decision to build green hydrogen import infrastructure in Europe hinges on EU nations transposing green hydrogen rules under the Renewable Energy Directive (RED III), its CEO has said. Eduardo Menezes told investors the industrial gas major needs regulatory clarity before committing to ammonia import terminals or cracking plants on the continent to bring in volumes of hydrogen from its 2.2GW Neom plant in Saudi Arabia. Air Products halted those plans in May when it pivoted the Neom strategy towards selling green ammonia from the Neom site until 2030, when its first offtake agreement is set to start. This [...]

H2-View News: Next Hydrogen to raise up to CAD $30m to ‘fully realise’ electrolyser technology

The offering is expected to close around 28 November and is tabled to raise between CAD $20m and CAD $30m ($21.4m), with shares priced at CAD $0.45 ($0.32). Next plans to use the proceeds to accelerate sales and manufacturing of its alkaline hydrogen production technology. “We believe this will fully realise the potential of the innovative technology the team has developed over the past decade,” said Chair Allan MacKenzie. The firm said it would market its existing 150Nm3/h NH150 systems, while completing the development of its megawatt-class NH500 electrolyser. Earlier this year, Next announced it would look to lean on [...]

H2-View News: GreenH takes FID on two Norwegian green hydrogen projects

The Oslo-headquartered firm said it had “fulfilled” the requirements set by government-owned Enova to press ahead with its developments in Kristiansund and Slagentangen. Both projects are planned to supply green hydrogen and derivatives to the maritime sector, although exact production capacities remain undisclosed. In Kristiansund, GreenH said its project at Vestbase will provide oil field equipment supplier NorSea Group’s customers with direct bunkering to reduce hydrogen transportation costs. The site in Slagentangen will supply up to 20,000 tonnes of hydrogen and 100,000 tonnes of ammonia annually at Exxon Mobil affiliate Esso Norge’s terminal outside of Tønsberg. Electrolyser maker Nel has [...]

H2-View News: Bramble Energy files for administration after failed funding round

Hydrogen Capital Growth (HGEN), which held around 12.5% of Bramble’s equity, has written down its £11m ($14.5m) holding to zero, representing 9% of its net asset value (NAV) as of 31 March 2025. Bramble had been seeking investment from third-party investors. However, HGEN said in a portfolio update statement, “It has recently become apparent that Bramble’s fundraising process has been unsuccessful in securing new financing, without which the company is unable to operate viably.” As such, Bramble progressed to an accelerated sale process for its entire business on 6 November, which was run by an independent advisor. “Whilst a number [...]

H2-View News: Cummins CFO says electrolyser demand has ‘dried up,’ leaving hole in projections

Demand for Cummins’ electrolyser products has “dried up,” with the decline felt most sharply in the US market, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Mark Smith revealed during the company’s Q3 2025 earnings call. Smith told investors weaker order volumes created a “hole” in projections for the next couple of years, describing the downturn as a surprise. Cummins announced on Thursday (6 November) it had recorded $240m in non-cash charges within its Accelera segment, leading to a “strategic review” of its electrolyser business amid “policy-driven shifts in hydrogen adoption expectations.” This is a paid article, to read the article in full you [...]

H2-View News: Californian hydrogen utility reassures stakeholders after ARCHES suspension

In an effort to reassure stakeholders, FPH2 said private-sector hydrogen suppliers and end-users were continuing projects despite federal funds being cancelled. The statement comes after the Alliance for Renewable Clean Hydrogen Energy Systems (ARCHES) puts its plans to build a clean hydrogen hub in California on ice, following the Department of Energy’s (DOE) termination of funding for the scheme. ARCHES had been set to receive $1.2bn from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to support projects aimed at building up clean hydrogen supply and demand. The DOE axed the funding as part of a $7.5bn clean energy rollback, which the administration said [...]

H2-View News: BP Jera JV commissions hydrogen refuelling station to support offshore wind operations

The 50:50 offshore wind joint venture between Japan’s Jera and BP said the Ostend Hydrogen Refuelling Station will store and dispense green hydrogen produced by Lhyfe in France and Germany. Beginning its demonstration phase this year, the facility will refuel Windcat’s hydrogen-powered crew transfer vessel, the Hydrocat 48, and has the capacity to serve “several vessels daily.” Engineering manufacturing firm Haskel led the construction of the facility, with support through the EU-funded Implementation of Ship Hybridisation (ISHY) programme. “Research and innovation are at the heart of how we approach the full life cycle of offshore wind projects,” explained Kristof Verlinden, Head of Global [...]
