About H2EG About H2EG           Through years of extensive technology evaluation and development, H2 Energy Group has integrated an innovative set of proprietary equipment for large scale production of renewable Hydrogen. This groundbreaking technology produces renewable Hydrogen with a production cost competitive with the predominant steam-methane reforming (SMR) Hydrogen, which uses natural gas.

H2EG’s modular and scalable technology set is fully developed and has been in production since 2015. While renewable Hydrogen competitors opine that they will be competitive with SMR Hydrogen by 2030, H2EG’s renewable Hydrogen is competitive today.

Renewable H2 Summary Renewable Hydrogen Summary H2 Energy Group (H2EG) is at the forefront in the race to reduce CO2 emissions and to reverse the devastating effects of climate change. As the world’s low-cost leader, H2EG utilizes proven technology to produce low-cost renewable hydrogen from biomass. The H2EG process, which has been in production since 2015, utilizes a fraction of the electricity of electrolysis, the only other proven renewable hydrogen technology utilized of today.

U.S transportation accounts for approximately 70% of the country’s oil consumption and 28 percent of its greenhouse emissions. Electrification of the transportation sector is a key initiative in combating climate change. California has recently adopted the “first-in-the-world rule” that will require truck manufacturers to provide zero-emission vehicles beginning in 2024 with full adoption in 2045. By 2035, 40% of tractor-trailers and 55% of smaller, pickup trucks (class 2b-3) and 75% of medium and heavy-duty trucks and vans must be zero-emission vehicles. As of July 2020, there are 41 hydrogen refueling stations in California with a goal of having 200 stations by 2025. The California Air Resources Board has recently recommended
the California Energy Commission to increase grant funds for refueling stations across the California. These developments all but ensure high demand for low-cost renewable hydrogen going forward.

Renewable hydrogen is increasingly being considered in the long term as a replacement to natural gas. In the interim, it is projected smaller amounts of renewable hydrogen will be blended (10-20%) into existing pipelines with the advantage of not requiring any upgrades to the current natural gas infrastructure. Utilities providing natural gas are currently evaluating the impact of blending on their pipelines. In addition to the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, the benefits of blending renewable hydrogen and natural gas include paving the way to upgrading the entire network of natural gas pipelines to be compatible with 100% renewable hydrogen. As of 2020 fertilizer production and oil refining are the largest users of hydrogen. With H2EG’s low-cost renewable hydrogen coupled with increasing public and government pressures to reduce greenhouse gas, H2EG is well positioned to take advantage of these other markets as well.
