H2-View News: Air Liquide eyes blue hydrogen build-out with Singapore refiner
Under a new memorandum of understanding (MOU), the pair will look to integrate an Air Liquide-developed carbon capture-equipped autothermal reforming (ATR) unit with Aster’s refining and petrochemical infrastructure. Both firms said the work would support Singapore’s low-carbon hydrogen goals and its Net Zero by 2050 strategy. According to Air Liquide, its ATR process can enable a carbon capture rate of up to 99%. The industrial gas firm’s Singapore CEO, Tina Loke, said the company would use its experience of over 30 ATR installations worldwide to develop the plans. Aster operates refining and petrochemical facilities on Bukom and Jurong Island, where [...]
H2-View News: Alstom pauses hydrogen train development after France pulls support
Alstom was set to be backed with state-aid funding allocated under the EU’s Hy2Tech Important Projects of Common European Interest (IPCEI) scheme. However, France’s decision to halt its contribution effectively blocks Alstom’s access to its share of EU support, as IPCEIs require matching national funding. While Alstom has suspended work at its hydrogen subsidiary, it is redeploying staff and continuing to fulfil existing hydrogen train orders in France, Italy and Germany. Alstom launched the world’s first hydrogen-powered passenger train, the Coradia iLint, in Germany in 2022. Although the model has since been trialled across Europe, its flagship deployment in Lower [...]

H2-View News: BrightHy to deliver electrolyser and refuelling station under €1.7m contract
The Fusion Fuel subsidiary has already begun engineering work for the project, and production of key equipment is underway. The engineering, procurement, and construction contractor for the initiative, BrightHy, expects to commission and deliver the production and refuelling project next year. Production volumes have not been disclosed, but the €1.7m contract value suggests a relatively small electrolyser module. No financing arrangements, long-term supply contracts or offtake agreements have been announced. Luis Galdo, BrightHy’s Chief Commercial Officer, said the agreement is a “significant step forward” for the company and the “rapid build-out of hydrogen infrastructure across southern Europe.” The contract comes [...]
H2-View News: BT leads UK’s ‘first’ long-range hydrogen-powered drone trial
The Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) drone took off from Llanbedr, Wales, and flew into Eryri National Park and up to 10km offshore. Alongside uAvionix and BVLOS specialist operator Skyfarer, BT and IE aimed to demonstrate that the hydrogen-powered application could safely reach the current range limit set by the UK Civil Aviation Authority. “The trial was another strong validation of what hydrogen fuel cells can achieve in UAV applications,” according to Andy Kelly, Head of Product Line at Intelligent Energy. The British technology firm provided its IE-SOAR system, which can deliver power from 800W to 2.4kW for commercial and [...]
H2-View News: Vienna’s Wiener Linien to deploy 10 hydrogen buses on Line 39A
The operator will convert its bus route 39A to run entirely on hydrogen buses, which have been manufactured and supplied by Portugal’s CaetanoBus. The 12-metre vehicles will seat 78 passengers and feature 70kW fuel cell systems supplied by Toyota. Five 7.5kg hydrogen tanks are stored on the roof, and the buses will have a range of at least 400km. Municipal energy firm Wien Energie will reportedly supply green hydrogen from the Smart Campus of Wiener Netze – Vienna’s electricity, gas, and district heating network operator. Renewable energy produced at the facility will power a Wien Energie electrolyser to support local [...]
H2-View News: OCI divests ammonia logistics arm to Agrofert for €290m
The sale of OCI Ammonia Holding includes the OCI Terminal Europoort (OTE), a large import and storage terminal in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and OCI Ammonia Distribution (OAD), which delivers ammonia to external European customers. However, OCI noted that it is still “evaluating strategic options” for its Geleen nitrogen fertiliser and ammonia plant in the Netherlands, a signal that the site could be earmarked for partial or full divestment or further restructuring. The transaction between OCI and Agrofert is expected to close in H1 2026, subject to obtaining certain regulatory approvals, completing customary closing procedures, and shareholder approval. After two years [...]
H2-View News: Xing’an League outlines plans for green hydrogen-ammonia-methanol cluster
The prefecture-level region in China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region also wants to produce two million tonnes of green ammonia and three million tonnes of green methanol at Xing’an’s Economic and Technological Development Zone. Six billion yuan ($840m) has already been invested in infrastructure, according to Gao Tianyu, director of the Administrative Committee of the zone, to help implement and develop the production projects. The zone claims to have attracted interest from major renewable energy companies, including Goldwind, CGN, and Mingyang. However, no timelines, developers, technologies, or financing structures have been disclosed, and many such regional targets in China remain conceptual [...]
H2-View News: We used permitting delays to improve final waste-to-hydrogen plant output: Raven CEO
Raven SR’s newly awarded Authority to Construct for its long-delayed California waste-to-hydrogen plant has broken the logjam that stalled progress over three years – paving the way for a ground-breaking ceremony as early as February 2026. CEO Matt Murdock told H2 View about the extensive and often unexpected hurdles the company faced during the Bay Area Air Quality Management District’s (BAAQMD) review process.
