H2-View News: Colruyt Group begins testing hydrogen trucks in Belgium logistics operations

As part of the EU-backed H2Haul initiative, the trucks will provide insights for future development. One has been in operation since May, with a second due to be integrated into the group’s logistics planning soon. The vehicle features a fuel cell module developed by OPmobility and VDL Enabling Transport Solutions (ETS) and can carry 40kg of hydrogen split across seven separate cylinders – about the same energy content as 137 litres of diesel, H2 View understands. The seven carbon fibre tanks, each with a 241-litre capacity, store a total of 1,687 litres of compressed hydrogen at 350 bar, with the [...]

H2-View News: ITM’s Hydropulse, ABO Energy partner to ‘fast-track’ decentralised green hydrogen plants

Under the new partnership, ABO, which has developed 6.6GW of renewables, will provide Hydropulse with project development support from contacts to industrial offtakers and a portfolio of selected pre-developed projects. The pair will focus on developing plants on or near end-user sites for Hydropulse to build, own, and operate. Early efforts will be on Spain and Finland, which both offer some of the cheapest renewable power in Europe. “Promising initial projects with an imminent customer need for green hydrogen have already been identified,” a statement said. ITM launched Hydropulse in June to offer current industrial hydrogen users a molecule supply [...]

H2-View News: Acme Cleantech wins sub-₹50/kg green ammonia bid in ninth SECI auction

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) announced that Acme will supply 1,00,000 tonnes per year of green ammonia to IFFCO Paradeep’s site in Odisha under the agreement. Until today, the lowest bid in the auction had been ₹50.75/kg from Jakson Green. Acme has also gone from the most expensive first mover, with ₹55.75/kg ($0.64/kg) in the first auction, to the record-setting cost leader. The SECI stated on LinkedIn that the auction has proved that green ammonia is becoming affordable, bankable and scalable, with India setting industry benchmarks. “Guided by MNRE’s policy support, stimulated by the Department of Fertilisers capacity augmentation, anchored in [...]

H2-View News: CMB.Tech seals $11bn merger with Golden Ocean to build future-proof fleet

The Belgian shipping group issued almost 96 million new shares to Golden Ocean investors at a 0.95-for-1 exchange ratio, cementing the stock-for-stock merger and securing listings in New York, Brussels and Oslo. The enlarged fleet boasts an average age of just over six years and includes more than 80 vessels prepared to use hydrogen or ammonia as a fuel. While H2 View understands that Golden Ocean’s carriers were not previously hydrogen or ammonia-ready, CMB.Tech’s dual-fuel technology could be extended across the enlarged fleet over time. “In less than 18 months, we have transformed a pure play crude oil tanker company [...]

H2-View News: Metacon delivers 20MW of electrolysers to Greek refinery

The delivery of the 10 5MW alkaline electrolyser stacks netted the Swedish firm €14.9m ($17.3m). It comes as part of two orders for the hydrogen production technology placed by Motor Oil: one for 30MW and one for 20MW. Once fully installed, the 50MW plant will produce green hydrogen to replace partial volumes of grey hydrogen already used in the Corinth refinery, as well as supplying a recently opened refuelling station. The hydrogen production plant is being supported by €111.7m ($129.7m) in EU funding. The electrolysis system is based on pressurised alkaline technology licensed from China’s Peric, and is assembled at [...]

H2-View News: Analysis: Balancing hydrogen project costs with delivery certainty in EPC wraps

As electrolyser players look to secure their futures, businesses are looking toward trusted models that are underpinned by mass oil and gas experience. ERM’s Global Hydrogen Lead David Hart said pairing electrolyser technology with established engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) expertise offers investors bankable execution, cost control, and delivery assurance. H2-View News: Air Liquide buys DIG Airgas for $3.3bn to boost Asian profile

Confirmation of the deal, which is expected to close in the first semester of 2026, comes after the French industrial gases major was shortlisted for the final bidding round last month. Air Liquide said the acquisition “substantially strengthens” its market position in South Korea, which is the sixth largest manufacturing country by GDP and fourth largest industrial gas market. Under Macquarie Asset Management’s ownership over the last six years, DIG has become one of the largest industrial gas players in Korea to operate 60 plants and 220km of pipeline networks. It also has a foothold in the hydrogen space, which [...]

H2-View News: Can SOEC tip the balance on green ammonia costs?

The sector must develop new production technologies and integrate them with renewables. It also needs the infrastructure and market conditions to scale before ammonia can realise its role in clean hydrogen. Among the biggest hurdles is cost. Electricity makes up 40–50% of production, putting efficiency at the centre of competitiveness. Ceres is betting on solid oxide electrolysis (SOEC). Designed to operate at high temperatures, the system could enable green ammonia at scale. By using waste heat from the process, Ceres says SOEC could reduce energy consumption by around 30% per kilogram of hydrogen produced. In its upcoming In Conversation with [...]

H2-View News: Plug, Verne win $2m to develop cryo-compressed hydrogen trailers in New York

The pair were awarded $2m from the state to develop trailers equipped with cryo-compressed storage technologies to improve distribution economics. The systems will be aimed at supporting hydrogen deliveries for small- to mid-sized warehouse and distribution centre customers in New York. Plug has long been both a fuel cell technology and hydrogen supplier for warehouse logistics applications, having deployed fuel cell forklifts with the likes of Amazon and Walmart. Verne, which was founded in 2020, claims its cryo-compressed systems can achieve 27% greater hydrogen storage density than compressed hydrogen gas. The technology works by compressing liquid hydrogen to pressures of [...]

H2-View News: Reynolds Logistics invests £3m in Luxfer MEGCs for UK HyHaul project

The bulk logistics and fuel distribution firm said Luxfer’s 40-foot containers will be “crucial” in transporting compressed hydrogen safely for the initiative. Last month, the Protium Green subsidiary HyHaul Mobility committed a £14m ($18.7m) investment to develop three hydrogen refuelling stations along the M4, supporting the deployment of up to 30 hydrogen fuel cell trucks. Located at sites in Avonmouth and Reading, green hydrogen will be delivered to the stations from Protium’s production facility in Wales. Meanwhile, hydrogen heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) are set to be leased out by Novuna Vehicle Solutions. “By investing in MEGCs, we’re securing critical infrastructure [...]
