H2-View News: Escalating hydrogen disruption leaves just six stations online in California
As of 7 April, more than 45 stations are down or unavailable, according to the trade group Hydrogen Fuel Cell Partnership (H2FCP), which told hydrogen vehicle drivers to plan their refuelling journey by checking station statuses. H2FCP’s station map showed just six stations are currently online, with 21 unavailable, and another 24 marked as offline. “Several hydrogen stations are not available due to a disruption of the gaseous hydrogen supply chain that began in February 2026,” H2FCP said. Five stations operated by Iwatani and Chevron are being supplied by low-pressure trailers, significantly reducing the amount of hydrogen they will receive. [...]
H2-View News: Jakson Green inks $456m SECI green ammonia supply contract
The firm secured the $456m contract from the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) after winning a competitive auction last summer. It was awarded the tender to supply green ammonia to state-owned fertiliser producer Coromandel International’s plant in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh for around $580 per tonne. The company has not confirmed plans for how it will produce the green ammonia. H2 View has contacted Jakson Green for clarification. The agreement comes under India’s Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition programme, a demand aggregation initiative in which SECI awarded 13 tenders to fertiliser plants across India for 724,000 tonnes of green [...]
H2-View News: CPH2 explores 100MW license deal in North America
CPH2 signed a 24-month memorandum of understanding (MOU) with engineering consultant Koch Modular to assess commercialising CPH2’s hydrogen production technology in Mexico, the US, and Canada. New Jersey-based Koch Modular, a subsidiary of Koch Industries, specialises in manufacturing modular mass transfer systems for the chemical process industry. According to CPH2, the MOU will cover joint supply chain, feasibility and technical assessments, system concepts and manufacturing proposals. If progressed into a licensing deal, Koch Modular could produce up to 100MW of CPH2 systems. CEO of CPH2, Jon Duffy, said that Koch Modular’s capabilities could be key to expanding the firm’s footprint. [...]
H2-View News: Alstom takes over Cummins’ rail fuel cell activities after electrolyser exit
Alstom said the unvalued deal included engineering, product, and support capabilities used in its existing hydrogen train fleets. No word was given on whether the acquisition included fuel cell manufacturing capabilities, including Cummins’s manufacturing and assembly site in Herten, Germany. H2 View has contacted Alstom for confirmation. Alstom Chief Operating Officer, Danny Di Perna, said the deal would allow the company to support maintenance for its installed fleet and conclude contracted programmes in Germany, Italy, and France. The train manufacturer has been developing hydrogen fuel cell-powered trains since the late 2010s. It has piloted its trains in France, Austria, Canada, [...]
H2-View News: Atawey lands contract for three Belgian hydrogen refuelling sites
Commissioned by retail corporation Colruyt Group and renewable firm Virya Energy, Atawey aims to deploy the stations for refuelling heavy-duty vehicles by 2027. Precise locations of the stations have not been disclosed. However, Atawey said they will be based on standardised architecture. In 2024, it acquired a network of 70 stations from electrolyser firm McPhy Energy, which has now been consolidated into John Cockerill Hydrogen. Following the acquisition, Atawey said it operates 51 stations and two production sites in the French Alps. Jean-Michel Amaré, President of Atawey, said the project strengthens the relevance of hydrogen in decarbonising heavy-duty transport in [...]
H2-View News: Advent to supply HTPEM membranes to EH Group under stationary fuel cell deal
The license and joint development agreement will see Advent integrate its membrane technology into EH’s HTPEM stack with a specific focus on developing systems for data centre back-up, telecoms, and microgrids. EH currently manufactures stacks ranging from 5kW to 320kW, as well as full fuel cell systems between 20kW and 250kW. Advent Chief Technology Officer, Emory DeCastro, said by combining the firm’s membranes with EH’s stack engineering, they could deliver “high-performance fuel cell solutions that meet the growing demand for reliable and sustainable energy.” The companies argue that HTPEM systems are “well-suited” to stationary applications. HTPEM fuel cells operate at [...]
H2-View News: How Topsoe’s withdrawal is reshaping First Ammonia’s plans
First Ammonia was built around solid oxide electrolysis (SOEC). Now, less than five years later, it’s walking away from the technology. At the end of March, Danish technology group Topsoe terminated a 100MW SOEC sales and service agreement for First Ammonia’s flagship Port of Victoria green ammonia project in Texas. H2-View News: Japanese group trials ‘world first’ hydrogen-fuelled ship engine
The six-part group claimed the project, backed by Japan’s New Energy and Industrial Development Organisation (NEDO), has successfully tested an engine using 95% hydrogen and 5% conventional fuel at 100% load. The group said the engine is an example of a large, low-speed, two-stroke, liquid hydrogen-fuelled engine intended for large merchant ships. Japan Engine Corporation, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL), Mitsui Drybulk, Onomichi Dockyard, and Nippon Kaiji Kyokai are all involved in the project. Provided the engine passes operational verification, it is scheduled to be shipped in January 2027 for installation on a 17,500 DWT vessel belonging to [...]
H2-View News: Air Products adds liquefaction to Port of Rotterdam grey hydrogen plant
Expected to be operational in 2027, the company said the liquid hydrogen facility was “over 65% complete.” The liquefier’s capacity has not been revealed. Air Products said it will help it meet demand in sectors like electronics manufacturing, space applications, and industrial processing across Benelux, France, Germany, and the UK. Liquefier installations are a typical way for industrial gas firms to meet merchant demand for hydrogen from existing central plants supplying large-scale nearby offtakers. Compared to compressed hydrogen gas, liquid hydrogen has a far higher density, meaning fewer trucks can be used to transport volumes. The firm’s Port of Rotterdam [...]
H2-View News: Plug Power wins 275MW Quebec electrolyser contract
Hy2gen Canada, a subsidiary of German power-to-x specialist Hy2gen, awarded Plug the front-end engineering design (FEED) contract for the installation of its GenEco PEM system. Plug’s electrolyser will use electricity from the Hydro-Québec grid, which Hy2gen will convert into renewable ammonium nitrate for the mining industry. The project is targeting final investment decision (FID) in 2027 and commercial operations by 2030. Hy2Gen says it has already signed a non-binding offtake agreement with a local explosives manufacturer. For Plug, the system contract marks one of its largest to date. CEO Jose Luis Crespo said it highlights a growing demand for high-capacity [...]
