H2-View News: Indian renewables firm lands 15-year green hydrogen build-own-operate deal
The Electrolyser-as-a-Service agreement with gas distributor Zero Footprint Industries (ZFI) will see Waaree design, engineer, supply, install, commission, own, and operate the 2.5MW alkaline electrolyser to support ZFI’s capacity expansion. The plant will supply around 4.1 million Nm³ of green hydrogen and two million Nm³ of green oxygen annually to ZFI under a 15-year offtake agreement – equivalent to roughly 370–380 tonnes of hydrogen per year at full capacity. ZFI intends to offer the gases to customers in sectors like oil, chemicals, steel, and pharmaceuticals to replace existing grey hydrogen. Waaree expects to bring the project online in the financial [...]
H2-View News: JM cuts Catalyst Technologies’ sale price by 26% after antitrust hold up
The UK technology group and US conglomerate agreed to extend the long stop date of the transaction from 21 February to 21 July 2026, with an option to extend it further to 21 August 2026. The delay is related to outstanding antitrust approval. JM did not indicate any specific regulatory concerns. However, as part of the revised terms, JM has agreed to reduce the sale price of the Catalyst Technologies business to £1.325bn ($1.785bn) on a cash and debt-free basis, down from the original value of £1.8bn ($2.4bn) announced in May 2025. The reduced price reflected the division’s performance during [...]
H2-View News: Green hydrogen-based methanol plans at Austrian biorefinery backed by €100m
The funding will be directed to Austrian energy company Verbund and compatriot biofuels producer AustroCel Hallein, who plan to combine green hydrogen produced by the plant with captured biogenic carbon dioxide. AustroCel’s Hallein biorefinery in Salzburg produces biomaterials via wood from the local area. Among the byproducts of AustroCel’s processes is biogenic CO2, which would be captured and combined with green hydrogen produced by the new electrolyser to generate e-methanol. The companies have not revealed specific offtakers, but a government statement said the e-methanol would help “industry and transportation” reduce CO2 emissions. The Austrian Ministry for Economic Affairs, Energy and [...]
H2-View News: Dutch e-fuels firm Power2X buys green hydrogen developer HyCC
The unvalued deal adds five green hydrogen projects in the Netherlands and Germany to Power2X’s portfolio, giving it access to a combined 1GW development pipeline. The company also said the acquisition would help develop and deliver its own projects, which include a 250,000-tonne green hydrogen-based sustainable aviation fuel project in the Port of Rotterdam. According to Power2X, the deal will strengthen its position as a clean fuels and feedstock supplier. Power2X CEO and founder, Occo Roelofsen, said the acquisition marks a shift from early-stage development toward project execution. “We are adding valuable and strategic projects in key industrial hubs to [...]
H2-View News: Woodside weighs Beaumont CCS expansion as blue ammonia demand trails
Woodside Energy has warned that demand for low-carbon hydrogen-based ammonia is growing more slowly than expected, potentially affecting plans to expand carbon capture capacity at its new Texas facility. Speaking during the company’s Q4 2025 earnings call, Acting CEO and Chief Operating Officer of Australia, Elizabeth Westcott, said the firm would align its project’s carbon capture expansion with market demand. H2-View News: ETFuels secures €118.6m Finnish tax break for e-methanol plant
The tax breaks will be provided to the company’s Finnish subsidiary for its Ranua facility, which is designed to produce 110,000 tonnes of green hydrogen-based e-methanol. According to ETFuels, the project, which is currently in early engineering stages, will use 300MW of renewable wind energy alongside battery storage facilities. Awarded under Business Finland’s Clean Transition program, the tax deductions will come over a period of up to 19 tax years once the project is operational, helping to reduce operating costs. The Ranua project has been in development in collaboration with Finnish energy firm Neova. It is part of the company’s [...]
H2-View News: Humber energy group enters race for £500m hydrogen network funding
Under the Humber Hydrogen banner, the quartet aim to secure around £500m ($674m) in funding from the government’s Hydrogen Transport and Storage Business Model process to develop a hydrogen network connecting sites in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. It comes just weeks after Norwegian oil and gas firm Equinor, energy player SSE, and gas storage major Centrica signed a letter to Energy Secretary Ed Miliband, calling for hydrogen support in the region amid industrial decline. If successful in the funding bid, the group says its proposed network would connect regional hydrogen production, storage, and consumption, while also tapping into an unconfirmed national [...]
H2-View News: Downstream fertilisers recognised under carbon certification scheme
The voluntary third-party certification scheme allows producers to differentiate products with customers looking to track sustainability targets and market demands. The revised criteria mean that the primary forms in which ammonia is sold and used today, such as nitric acid, ammonium nitrate, urea, and urea ammonium nitrate, now qualify for the scheme aimed at bolstering transparency for buyers. These derivatives can all be used for producing clean hydrogen-based fertiliser products. TFI CEO, Corey Rosenbusch, said that stakeholders have been seeking credible verification for low-carbon supply chains, stressing that other verification systems are “years away.” “Our VACI methodology delivers transparency and [...]
H2-View News: Traditional hydrogen demand buoys Air Liquide’s US sales
Its sales growth in the fourth quarter of 2025 was driven by strong performances in the Americas and totalled $2.5bn, slightly below the Europe, Middle East and Africa region, which led performances ($2.6bn). While over half of its €4.6bn ($5.3bn) investment backlog is linked to hydrogen and the energy transition, traditional unabated US hydrogen remains a core growth engine, leading to increased capacity and investment in Texas and Louisiana. The industrial gases major has expanded its Gulf Coast industrial network and will invest $50m in upgrading existing hydrogen infrastructure and forging new supply agreements with major refiners. “We see a [...]
H2-View News: German state opens €50m green hydrogen funding call
Aiming to support regional hydrogen hubs within the state, the funding is available for new projects at least 1MW in size, aimed at supplying regional applications. Funding will cover up to 45% of eligible investment costs, with maximum funding capped at €10m ($11.8m). Those investments include the construction of new electrolyser capacity or the expansion of existing production capacity, including balance of plant equipment. Additionally, components like hydrogen storage or compressors could receive up to 30% of capital costs covered. The state hopes to support local green hydrogen production while Germany’s 9,000km core hydrogen network ramps up. “The goal is [...]
