In an online statement, the parent company wrote, “In a challenging market environment for green hydrogen and with the aim of limiting the financing needs of its subsidiary Elogen, GTT announces that it is undertaking a strategic review of the latter’s activities. “This strategic review will lead the Group to explore all possible options regarding its subsidiary. H2-View News: Resato secures €25m EIB loan to scale its hydrogen refuelling solutions
The Dutch company, based in Assen, is expected to use the venture debt facility to boost the R&D of its refuelling technology and to support its goal of producing 1,000 hydrogen refuelling stations by 2030. Furthermore, the expansion in the northern Netherlands could increase its workforce from 170 to up to 1,000 by the end of the decade, while fostering supply chain employment and addressing the demand for skilled personnel through its H2 Academy. H2-View News: Nel pauses alkaline electrolyser production in Herøya, announces layoffs
The longstanding hydrogen technology company said order intake in 2023 and 2024 “fell short of expectation” with several customer projects delayed or “at risk of being cancelled.” Furthermore, Nel said that a customer has failed to pay for delivered equipment, with payment now being more than a year overdue, and is undertaking a process to retain ownership of the equipment. With a Final Investment Decision (FID) expected this year, the latest milestone represents the “first” announced the completion of FEED for a large-scale clean ammonia facility in the US. H2-View News: Nel secures $29m IRA tax credit boost for 4GW electrolyser factory in Michigan
The extra funding came as part of the Qualifying Advanced Energy Project Tax Credit (48C) programme, which is funded by the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and managed by the US Department of Energy, Department of Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service. Nel has yet to make a final investment decision (FID) on its 4GW factory, which is expected to be worth $400m.
