The factory in Pune, Maharastra, will produce megawatt-scale transformers and rectifiers based on insulated-gate bipolar transistor (IGBT), silicon carbide (SiC) and thyristor technologies. Transformers and rectifiers are essential components in electrolyser systems. Transformers convert high-voltage AC supply into lower-voltage AC to meet system requirements. Rectifiers convert the transformer’s AC output into DC. Working with Baker Hughes, the gas major deployed UK-based Levidian’s LOOP technology with the capacity to produce over one tonne of graphene per year and a further tonne of hydrogen annually.
