Hydrogen, derivative and e-fuel trade bodies are calling on EU policymakers for a ‘reality check’ on the bloc’s hydrogen policy to tackle challenges that undermine 2030 production and consumption targets. In a joint statement, the associations say a large gap between “strategic and political vision” and “market reality,” slow electrolyser capacity development, non-competitive clean hydrogen production costs and more could compromise the EU’s targets.
