The Hydrogen Council is a global CEO-led initiative comprising 140+ multinational companies based in 20+ countries representing the entire hydrogen value chain.

Using its global reach to promote collaboration between governments, industry and investors, it provides guidance on accelerating the deployment of hydrogen solutions around the world.

Founded in 2017 at the World Economic Forum in Davos, the Hydrogen Council’s membership represents some USD 8.2 trillion in market capitalisation, 6.8 millions FTEs, and some USD 5.2 trillion in revenues.

Role Responsibilities

You develop The Council’s strategy and present it for approval to the Board. You translate the Association’s approved strategy into a structured annual work plan and lead implementation.
You act as a spokesperson for the Council at a national and a global level. You represent the Council before relevant stakeholders, policy-makers, media, on events, in meetings with members and partner organizations.
With the support of the Secretariat and the members, you drive public relations interventions and marketing & communication actions relevant for influencing policy and for obtaining/growing membership engagement. You ensure the Council’s resources are well deployed to the benefit of all members.
As face of the Council, you participate in policy discussions and are actively involved in CEO meetings; you drive membership engagement by ensuring the research programs of the Council are positioned on the right issues and thought leadership outputs are of interest to the CEO’s.
You are the interface between the Secretariat and the governance of the Council. You prepare and attend governance meetings, present reports, make proposals.
You assume the general management and administration of the Hydrogen Council Secretariat. You oversee the Operations and manage the Secretariat in a financially healthy way, ensuring budget efficiency and cost management.
You manage the team and ensure expertise and competencies remain in line with the requirements of the strategic plan

Your Profile

You rely on proven experience in executive management; Vision and strategy are comfort domains along with defining tactics and driving implementation
You have good understanding of geopolitics of the energy sector and know how to navigate divergent political and geographical agenda’s and priorities
You are eloquent. You demonstrate solid communication and presentation skills; you combine impact with diplomacy and credibly engage with C-level and political leaders
You bring an international network at senior business level and by preference also at policy level
You are an inspirational leader, able to obtain engagement and commitment to action; you know how to build trust
Discretion, secrecy and business ethics are in your DNA
You are willing to travel and flexible in working across different time zones
Association management knowledge is an asset
You are fluent in English. Additional languages are an asset
