The Hydrogen Council, the global CEO-led initiative comprising the world’s leading companies and investors in hydrogen, is recruiting for a highly motivated and experienced Communications Manager for a 13-month maternity cover contract. As the Communications Manager, you will be the driving force behind the Hydrogen Council’s comprehensive communications strategy and activities.

Key Responsibilities

Press and Media Relations: You will be the Hydrogen Council’s chief liaison with the press, crafting press releases and coordinating interviews. Your ability to write compelling narratives and to build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets will be pivotal in amplifying our messages.
Social Media: You will lead the Council’s social media presence, managing our accounts across LinkedIn, X and YouTube. With a keen eye for trends and analytics, you’ll proactively monitor, analyze, and report on relevant topics, ensuring our voice is heard and our message resonates.
Website: You will be responsible for managing, updating and maintenance of the Council’s website, including the newly-launched content hub, Hydrogen In Action
Content Creation: From newsletters to website articles for our content hub, you will be responsible for writing engaging and informative content that educates and inspires our internal and external audiences. Your storytelling abilities will bring the Hydrogen Council’s vision to life.
Events: As Communications Manager, you will cultivate and nurture relationships with key stakeholders and industry partners. You will be the main point of contact for development partnerships and coordinating speaking opportunities at industry events.
You will play a crucial role in the organisation of the Hydrogen Council’s large-scale CEO events. From planning and logistics to on-site execution, your attention to detail and project management skills will ensure flawless and impactful events.
Travel: Occasional travel will be required to attend the Council’s CEO events and key industry events.
Communication Subcontractors: The Council works closely with subcontractors to achieve a high-level of quality and service. You will coordinate and manage the activities of the communication subcontractors. You will be their primary point of contact.

Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field
Proven experience in communications or similar role, preferably in an international context
Strong proficiency in English, both written and verbal
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with a keen eye for detail
Effective interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and external partners, and capacity to work in multicultural settings
Demonstrated expertise in social media management and content creation
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and contribute to a collaborative team culture.
