Yara green ammonia deal ‘eliminates’ Air Products’ Neom offtake volume risk: CEO

Yara and Air Products’ potential deal, which would see the fertiliser firm sell green ammonia from the 2.2GW Neom green hydrogen plant, will eliminate Air Products’ volume risk associated with its sole offtaker role.

That was the message from CEO Eduardo Menezes to investors in a quick-response teleconference to the industrial gas major’s announcement earlier on Monday (8 December).

Under the deal, which was said to be “advanced”, the pair are “anticipating” entering a marketing and distribution agreement that would see Yara offtake green ammonia from the Saudi mega project.
