The medium duty trucks will utilise a hydrogen fuel cell range extender to enhance the range of the vehicles whilst also providing reliability.

It is expected that the funding will be used to advance the SANGREAL project, a collaboration between Tevva and Advanced Electric Machines (AEM), as the groups look to enhance the zero-emission mobility range on the market.
Tevva recently unveiled a 7.5 tonne hydrogen fuel cell truck which will offer ranges from up to 500km through its patented range extender technology, REX, which surpasses the electric capability of 250km.
Ken Scott, Chief Engineer at Tevva, said, “We are humbled and proud to be receiving this grant to continue developing Tevva’s groundbreaking technology in the EV market.
“We are developing zero-emission solutions for higher weight class “return to base” logistics vehicles that offer true cost of ownership benefit, compared to existing diesel offerings, with extended range – which is truly revolutionary for our industry.
“This funding will help make this a reality in the near-future.”
