The Chinese hydrogen technology firm said it signed a pre-purchase agreement to supply electrolysers, filling stations, multi-unit gas containers, as well as EPC services to Australia’s Line Hydrogen, which is 14% owned by Guofuhee.
The kit will be installed at Line’s project near Bell Bay in Tasmania, which plans to initially produce 1.69 tonnes of green hydrogen per day to supply mobility applications.
Originally planned for commissioning in late 2025, the project is yet to break ground, but is expected to scale up to produce almost 15 tonnes of hydrogen daily.
The project will be collocated with the 4.95MW Bell Bay Solar Farm, which came online in November 2023.
Guofuhee has not revealed which products could be deployed at the site. The company currently manufactures both PEM and alkaline electrolysers with 50Nm3 /h, 200Nm3/h, 500Nm3/h, and 1,000Nm3/h production rates.
It also makes refuelling station equipment offering dispensing at 350 and 700 bar, as well as Type 3 hydrogen storage vessels for the same pressures.
While the deal still hinges on a formal purchase order, Guofuhee said it would “positively impact” its entry into the Australian market by reducing the risks of developing projects on its own.
The company has been announcing an increasing number of international deals. In a joint venture with Germany’s RCT Group, Guofuhee will set up a 250MW electrolyser manufacturing facility in Germany.
