Shell inks PPAs for 100MW green hydrogen project, but RFNBO eligibility unclear

Shell has signed two PPAs for more than 280MW of renewable electricity to supply its 100MW green hydrogen refinery project in Germany, but it is unclear whether the project will meet the EU’s strict eligibility rules.

The oil and gas major will offtake around 110MW from Northland Power and RWE’s Nordsee One joint venture’s 332MW wind farm under a five-year agreement.
