Ryze Power to redistribute unused hydrogen from Quest One’s electrolyser gigahub

At Quest’s gigawatt-scale PEM electrolyser hub in Hamburg, a tube trailer will redistribute hydrogen generated during R&D and end-of-line testing.

Under a Joint Customer Solution agreement, the partners aim to “enable end-to-end hydrogen supply,” to connect production with industrial and mobility users across Europe.

“Every day, our tube trailers are delivering hydrogen to our customers across Germany and the rest of Europe,” explained Leander Hoffmann, Managing Director at Ryze Power Germany.

“This is not a concept, or a trial, but a reality for businesses across the country who cannot electrify their operations and want to decarbonise with renewable fuels. The Hamburg tube trailer filling station is yet another demonstration of what is technically possible.”

Quest One’s Nima Pegemanyfar said the collaboration aims to “remove barriers that are hindering hydrogen projects.”

Speaking during an H2 View webinar earlier this year, Ryze Power’s Dr. Lee Roberts said hydrogen bankability depends on more than subsidies.

Instead, it requires coordinated development of supply, demand, and infrastructure to keep costs competitive and projects financeable.

The collaboration comes as Quest One undergoes restructuring under CEO Michael Meister to strengthen its position amid challenging market conditions.

In August, the German firm named Meister as permanent CEO and appointed a new CTO, aiming to stabilise and rebound.
