Nuvera has announced the commercial availability of 360kW and 470kW Nuvera® G-Series Fuel Cell Power Generators, which operate on hydrogen and deliver three-phase VAX power in a containerised package.
It is a modular zero-emission power solution for commercial and industrial applications including data centres, electric vehicles, back-up power and microgrids.
The hydrogen produced from excess renewable power such as solar, wind or hydro can be used to store electricity. The hydrogen can then be conveyed to the power generator to meet on-site power demands or be fed into the electrical grid. When the grid is down, the system can provide back-up power.
Kedar Murthy, Chief Commercial Officer at Nuvera, said, “We are committed to providing scalable clean power solutions available worldwide, along with integration and aftermarket support.
“The G-Series Power Generator, which has been validated in operation for two years, is a milestone in our company’s expanding product portfolio that began more than two decades ago.”
The generator features remote monitoring for maximising up-time, day and night energy use, and power output that can be extended to megawatt scale. Comprised of multiple Nuvera® E-Series Fuel Cell Engines, uptime is afforded by system redundancy. The generator is expected to provide up to 85% of its maximum power while allowing one of its modules to be serviced.
Nuvera recently revealed it has sold two of its Nuvera® E-60 Fuel Cell Engines to Nexus which is currently developing modular zero-emission solutions for maritime and onshore applications.

The company also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Urban Mobility Systems (UMS) on the development, testing and deployment of Nuvera® 125kW fuel cell engines.

Under the MoU, Nuvera will ensure the initial sales of the engines to UMS and the development, sales and support of standardised zero-emission fuel cell powertrains for commercial applications.
