Now Hy2gen Nordic, the Hy2Gen AG subsidiary aims to be a global leader in developing, financing, building, owning and operating renewable hydrogen and hydrogen-based e-fuel plants in the region.

Under the expansion plan, Hy2gen Nordic wants to set up state-of-the-art renewable and hydrogen-derivative production plants in strategic locations in Sweden, Finland, Iceland and Denmark, in addition to seeking partnerships with local governments, industries and other energy providers to foster collaboration.

The company will also continue to invest in R&D to enhance the efficiency and scalability of its hydrogen production processes, building on experience it has gathered since 2019.

“Our new name better represents our vision and commitment to develop innovative renewable hydrogen projects across the entire Nordic region,” explained Hege Økland, Managing Director of Hy2gen Nordic.

“We are excited about bringing our expertise to new markets and contributing to our customers’ energy transition.”

In 2022, Hy2gen announced it would develop a green hydrogen and ammonia production facility in Norway. At the time, it was announced construction would start this year, ahead of full operations in 2027.
