No clear cost advantage to installing Chinese electrolysers abroad, says IEA

The cost advantage of cheap Chinese electrolysers reduces significantly when systems are installed outside of the country, according to the International Energy Agency (IEA).

When manufactured and installed domestically, the electrolysers are much cheaper, ranging from $600-1,200/kW. But once transport, tariffs, local engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) costs are added, the real installed cost jumps to $1,500-2,400/kW.
