The mobile refueller program includes its own mobile fuellers as well as several third party mobile fuellers, that will provide Nikola’s customers with a variety of flexible fuelling options.
Nikola’s first mobile refueller has completed commissioning and testing, and is set to be commissioned in the first quarter
Michael Lohscheller, Nikola Corporation President and CEO, said, “Coupled with Nikola’s hydrogen tube trailer, with a capacity of 960kg, Nikola’s mobile fueller can refuel customer trucks back-to-back.”
Carey Mendes, Nikola Corporation President of Energy, added, “Nikola’s mobile fueller program will be an integral part of Nikola’s flexible customer service in its early years by delivering hydrogen to its FCEV customers at locations which meet their needs.”
The company recently received a California Air Resources Board (CARB) Zero-Emission Powertrain Executive Order, which is a requirement for the Nikola Tre FCEV to be eligible for CARB’s Hybrid and Zero Emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP).
The Tre FCEV beta version was announced last year and is expected to launch in the second half of 2023 in North America and the first half of 2024 in Europe.

Last year, Nikola unveiled the locations of three planned hydrogen dispensing stations in California, US, to support the growing demand for hydrogen-powered trucks.
The three refuelling stations and logistics infrastructure will be located in Colton, Ontario and a location to service the Port of Long Beach, Los Angeles.
Nikola hope that the stations will support key customers while advancing the state’s efforts to decarbonise the transport sector.
