Meeks was announced as interim CEO last August (2022), after the departure of former director, Craig Knight, and the transition of George Gu to non-executive Chairman.

Since the interim appointment Meeks have been directing a strategic review of the company’s global operations, which led to a reorganisation of European operations under new leadership and ownership structures, as well as exiting from commercial truck operations in China to focus on North America, Europe, and Australia.
Since August, Hyzon has been facing questions after missing two quarter’s worth of financial filing and is currently appealing delisting from The Nasdaq Stock Market, with a hearing set for this Thursday (March 16).

In parallel, the company took a petition to the Delaware Court of Chancery after a previous ruling had suggested there was uncertainty as to whether Hyzon complied with Delaware General Corporation Law (DGCL) when the company was incorporated in 2021.
Last week (March 9), Hyzon revealed it had been granted the petition to “validate and declare effective” its Certificate of Incorporation and all of its outstanding shares.

Having joined Hyzon in June 2021 as Chief Strategy Officer, Meeks has previously serviced as president, infrastructure at TRC Companies. Prior to TRC he was a partner and founding leader of McKinsey & Company’s global Capital Productivity & Infrastructure practice.
Commenting on the permanent appointment, Meeks said, “Hyzon has a bright future, and I am privileged to take the permanent helm and put my decades of experience to work in a new way.”
He added, “In this fresh, new chapter, I’ll focus on leading Hyzon’s commercialisation efforts to accelerate decarbonisation on both a global and customer-by-customer-basis.”
