Marrakech to host World Power-to-X Summit 2025 in October

Held under the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, the Summit is organised in collaboration with IRESEN, the Green H2 Cluster, Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), and MASEN, and to provide a platform for regional political and economic dialogue and deals.

It comes at a pivotal moment, as international momentum accelerates and Morocco enters a new phase in implementing its hydrogen ambitions. In March, the Moroccan Government approved six hydrogen-based projects worth $32.7bn located in the country’s southern regions.

The North African country is actively targeting the production of green ammonia, industrial fuels, and decarbonised steel.

Key topics will include financing and economic models, particularly offtake agreements, public and private investments, and risk mitigation mechanisms, as well as infrastructure and logistics.

A special focus will be on the development of ports, pipelines, and storage solutions to foster a fluid and competitive market.

Technological innovation will also play a central role, spotlighting advancements in electrolysis, green ammonia and methanol production, and hydrogen storage and transport.

French climate tech firm Khimod recently raised €23m ($27m) from investors to advance the industrialisation of its low-carbon hydrogen power-to-X (PtX) technologies and projects.

H2 View will be on the ground, reporting on all the latest news and views from the Summit.
