Said to go beyond traditional on and off-road driving, the Toyota subsidiary’s Recreational Off Highway Vehicle Concept, or ROV Concept, aims to provide a driving experience in nature unlike any passenger vehicle.

The image tease of the image features a compact body, a dark bronze paint finish, off-road tyres and a protective cage – perfect for off-roading needs.

A 1.0-litre hydrogen engine is powering the new innovation, with the featured modernised engine functioning just like a petrol internal combustion engine, but with hydrogen contained within a sturdy high-pressure tank which delivers the hydrogen into the combustion chamber through direct injection.

Lexus’ launch of the ROV Concept marks the company’s efforts to realise a carbon neutral society, something which its parent company, Toyota, is already leading the way in.

Now in the zero-emission space, Lexus hopes to balance the refined lifestyle and driving pleasure that its cars provide, with bettering the planet for a cleaner future.

The ROV Concept will be debuted for the first time at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2022, held at Makuhari Messe (Chiba City) for from today (Jan 14) until Sunday (Jan 16).
