H2 View understands that the product can be “adopted for use in most barbeques currently available on the market, and at a price that is consistent with today’s higher end propane or natural gas-fuelled barbeques.”
The green hydrogen generator will operate on solar, wind or plug power and is expected to use only distilled water to produce green hydrogen.
They are anticipated to become available on the North American market early next year (2025).
“The benefits of grilling with hydrogen are many,” claimed William Green, Ion Fuel CEO. “Hydrogen burns super clean and leaves your food tasting better and juicier than traditional barbeque methods.
“Our system will still produce the Maillard reaction of browning and the development of complex flavours and aromas while eliminating the aftertaste of propane, charcoal, or natural gas.”
Jeff Basford, Ion Fuel COO, added, “Our goal is to work with barbeque manufacturers to adapt our system to their current production lines. We plan to have hydrogen-fuelled grills available to consumers by early 2025.”
In June (2024), Ion Fuel launched H2 Grills, its subsidiary dedicated to developing hydrogen-fuelled barbeque technologies.
