This is according to Antara News, who reported that a value chain for each of these technologies will be explored in Indonesia in order to create a hub for clean energy and operations.
Integrating hydrogen and clean technologies into the nation will enable a smooth transition away from fossil fuel dependency and also create investment opportunities for clean energy companies in the country.
The green hydrogen from this will be converted into ammonia as the country looks to integrate the clean fuel into coal-fired power plants.
Bakir Pasaman, President Director of PT Pupuk Indonesia, said, “We are very optimistic on the development of green hydrogen and green ammonia. Transporting the hydrogen as a material for our industry is very difficult and expensive.
“Hence, transforming it to become ammonia can reduce logistics costs.”
