Revealed in Bangalore on Monday (February 6) during India Energy Week, H2 View understands the truck has been under development for over the year, with testing having been carried out since August 2022.
The hydrogen ICE-powered truck maintains a similar overall architecture of that to a conventional diesel-fuelled combustion engine, which the companies says helps a quicker migration to cleaner energy sources at a lower cost.

Last month (January 2023), Ashok Leyland was announced as part of a collaboration with Adani and Ballard Power Systems to develop a hydrogen fuel cell-electric truck for mining logistics and transportation.

At the start of this year (2023), the Indian Government approved a comprehensive $2bn incentive plan to boost green hydrogen development.
