Revealed today (Oct 28), this target has been identified in a series of consultations on green hydrogen demand in various sectors, supply chain management, low-cost financing, capacity building and electrolyser manufacturing.

It is hoped by doing this, India could benefit significantly from the information coming out, supporting the development of a rich hydrogen ecosystem.
The consultations also identified key technical, economic and policy challenges that currently need to be addressed in addition to the need to increase funding, set out hydrogen standards, produce electrolysers and create hydrogen clusters in India.
These have been recognised as key to developing the hydrogen value chain.
As well as this, India could be a key region for the production of green steel with the nation potentially able to achieve 10MT of high-margin export green steel capacity by 2030.
