Making a welcome return to the Middle East for the first time in three years, the conference marks 15 years since gasworld’s inaugural event.
Following a welcome reception on the roof of the Yas Marina Circuit Centre today (December 12), delegates of the sold-out event will kick off the two days of sessions with a H2 View The Hydrogen Economy – Developments in the Middle East.
Rob Cockerill, Content Director at gasworld and H2 View will host players in the hydrogen industry to unravel the hydrogen developments across the MENA region, kicking off with David Edmondson, CEO of NEOM Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC).
Edmondson is set to tell delegates about the company’s ambition of building the world’s ‘largest’ green hydrogen plant, with plans of producing 600 tonnes of green hydrogen per day, which kicked off its construction in November (2022).

Following sessions of the conferences will focus on the helium and MENA’s role in the supply chain; optimising a reduction in carbon emissions; and medical oxygen and security of supply.
Exhibition and networking time will be followed by a closing Afterglow – Skylite function at W Abu Dhabi Yas Island’s Wet Deck 2.
“The Middle East region has long been close to gasworld’s heart and the flagship destination for its conferences, having been the scene for our first even event back in 2007,” said Martyn Hammond, CEO of gasworld.
He added, “Our return to the region this year is significant on so many levels, as so much has changed during the Covid-induced hiatus. Both global economies and the world of industrial gases have been transformed and this event aims to address the significant evolution in the way our industry operates and sees itself on the industrial stage.”
