The memorandum of understanding with the Spanish Confederation of Service Station Business Owners (CEEES) outlined plans to integrate HVR’s equipment at existing fuelling infrastructure across Spain.
Dubbed Activa, HVR’s platform dispenses hydrogen at 350 and 700 bar for both heavy and light-duty. At 20m2, the company says the system can alleviate permitting strains.
While specific deployments under the agreement remain undisclosed, it comes as part of HVR’s plans to deploy 75 hydrogen stations across Europe’s Trans-European Transport Network before 2030.
As of December 2025, over 20 Activa refuelling stations were in development according to HVR.
Europe is seeing an uptick in hydrogen refuelling infrastructure, with companies including Orlen and MB Energy opening dedicated hydrogen refuelling stations amidst EU mandates for green hydrogen in the mobility sector.
However, the mobility pathway continues to face strains related to fuel costs, vehicle uptake, and station utilisation.
