Germany’s Climate Minister is urging the EU to delay additionality and hourly matching rules for green hydrogen, warning they could slow market ramp-up, a leaked letter has revealed.

Addressed to Energy Commissioner, Kari Simson, the letter reportedly written by Robert Habeck said criteria under the EU’s delegated acts for renewable fuels of non-biological origin (RFNBO) would increase the cost of renewable hydrogen by around €2.4/kg ($2.68).
