The agreement comes as HYDS constructs small production facilities in Stord and Egersund to produce green hydrogen for maritime transport.

Thor Henrik Hagen, CEO of HYDS, said GenH2’s integrated liquefaction solutions represent a “game-changer.” Hagen added, “The solutions make it possible to produce liquid green hydrogen at competitive prices close to the users, without costly and complicated transport.”

HYDS set out to develop, build, own, and operate several green hydrogen production plants, while also taking responsibility for dispensation and bunkering, with a production target of 85,000kg in 2023.

H2 View understands GenH2’s technology will be delivered through HYDS’ subsidiary Liquiline.

Knut Førland, Managing Director of Liquiline, commented, “After a close dialogue over the last years, we are thrilled to announce the partnership with GenH2. This gives us access to their leading scalable technology for safe onsite production, storage, and distribution of liquid green hydrogen.”

In January this year (2023), GenH2 launched its 20kg mobile liquid hydrogen system, offering end-to-end liquefaction and storage.

“We are pleased to partner with HYDS and its subsidiary Liquiline to provide local production and storage of liquid hydrogen in Norway,” said Greg Gosnell, President and CEO of GenH2.

Gosnell added the ability to produce, and storage hydrogen locally could reduce the costs and risks associated with the liquid hydrogen supply chain.
