The firm signed an agreement with the UK-based energy and engineering group aimed at gaining market share of the country’s green hydrogen projects.
The pair cited locally growing demand for low-carbon energy solutions as a driver for teaming up.
Stargate has recently been boosting production capacity for its alkaline electrolysers. In June 2025, it opened a factory for manufacturing 140MW worth of systems per year, and in October, it commercially rolled out units in Finland.
The firm currently delivers full 1MW and 10MW systems, as well as 500kW and 5MW stacks.
Seacht, based in the south of England, operates engineering and construction services, specialising in power, energy, and utility.
Specific details of projects under the new collaboration remain undisclosed.
The duo will engage with stakeholders, project developers, and policymakers together for the first time at the Hydrogen UK Annual Conference and Awards in Birmingham.
Marko Virkebau, CEO of Stargate, hailed the UK as a strategic market and Seacht as a “strong local partner.”
“This agreement reflects our intention to establish a long-term commercial presence in the UK,” he continued.
This comes despite progressing hydrogen projects in the UK remaining a bumpy road.
The Hydrogen Energy Association’s (HEA) recent report revealed that 81% of surveyed respondents in the UK hydrogen industry see demand creation as a constraint to the market’s development.
Despite this, 84% expect their UK hydrogen investment to increase, and 51% expect demand to increase over the next 12 months.
The UK government is also somewhere in the midst of selecting projects for its second Hydrogen Allocation Round (HAR). However, with the final selection out of 27 shortlisted projects remaining unnamed, the HEA has criticised the sluggishness of this process.
