Subsidiary of NextChem, MyRechemical has commenced the engineering of waste conversion to Circular Gas™ which is set to be used as a feedstock for the production of hydrogen and ethanol.

Expected to be completed in 2023, MyRechemical’s conversion technology is said to allow the recovery of waste that cannot be mechanically recycled, as well as other types of non-recyclable dry waste.

Parent company of NextChem, Maire Tecnimont in September (2022), revealed NextChem’s project had been assigned €194m ($192m) of public funding under the European Commission’s IPCEI Hy2Use programme.

Additionally, NextChem has awarded an engineering contract to LanzaTech to deliver a process design package for a syngas fermentation unit to produce circular ethanol for sustainable mobility and chemicals.

Alessandro Bernini, CEO of Maire Tecnimont Group and NextChem, commented, “We are very proud to have started the engineering activities of the first NextChem Hydrogen Valley. This agreement with Lanzatech is the first deployment of the existing cooperation with such a recognised player and represents an important step forward in our energy transition journey.”
