This will enable the aircraft to potentially be accelerated and also be more effective in providing key enabling technologies for a hydrogen-fuelled future in the aviation industry.

The aircraft being developed is called H2ERA and it is currently on track to launch in 2030, making it the world’s first true zero 90-seater regional aircraft, the company said.

These hydrogen enabling technologies will be developed through Smart Megawatt Stack (SMS) Fuel Cell Systems which brings a host of technical expertise to the project and company.

Kamran Iqbal, founder and CEO of Electric Aviation Group, said, “The megawatt scale fuel stack system to be developed by this new venture is yet another key step to make EAG’s aircraft a reality.

“Our aircraft and its enabling technologies will become a blueprint for future larger and smaller green aircraft. It is the foundation to secure a leading share in the sustainable mass air transportation market.

“We have assembled the ‘best in class’ team with complementary capabilities to turn our vision into a reality.”
