H2 View understands the companies have joined forces to provide visitors with free new generation Toyota Mirai shuttles which will be powered by low-carbon hydrogen produced by Air Liquide.

The hydrogen-powered shuttles will travel between three main areas of installations for the 21st edition of the night-time arts festivals: Charléty stadium, the Hôtel de Ville, and the Villette.

Air Liquide and Toyota have said they hope the initiative will showcase and demonstrate the solution that hydrogen-powered mobility can offer in addressing the climate emergency and facilitating an energy transition.

Matthuew Giard, Vice-President, Member of the Executive Committee at Air Liquide, said, “By providing sustainable mobility for Nuit Blanche, a major event in the cultural life of Paris, Air Liquide is reiterating its ambition to provide society with tangible solutions that address both the climate emergency and mobility needs.

“Air Liquide has been a world leader in hydrogen for 60 years. Today, the Group is drawing on its expertise in this molecule to ensure that the energy transition and the decarbonisation of the planet are a success. This innovative partnership proves that by combining the skills of public and private partners, sustainable mobility is now possible and accessible.”

Frank Marotte, President and CEO of Toyota France, added, “Toyota champions a low-carbon, inclusive and responsible society. That is why we aim to achieve carbon neutrality in Europe by 2030. Providing access to the Toyota Mirai, a zero-emission hydrogen vehicle, is a wonderful example of our investment in a better world.”
