Acme wins again in India’s green ammonia auction with ₹51.89/kg bid

Acme’s second bid and seventh of the auction altogether sits near the bottom of the range, just above NTPC and Jakson Green’s, and far below its first, much higher ₹55.75/kg ($0.64/kg) bid.

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) announced today that Acme will supply 50,000 tonnes per year of hydrogen-based ammonia to CIL’s fertiliser plant in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.

The bid was part of India’s first green ammonia tender under the Sight scheme, Mode-2A, Tranche-I, where SECI is securing supply for 13 fertiliser plants across the country to help the energy transition.

SECI said that with auction prices now spanning ₹55.75–₹50.75/kg ($0.64–$0.58/kg), the successful bidding series has given India the confidence to step into the export market.

“Building on this domestic offtake success, India is now ready to explore partnerships with other geographies from Japan and Korea to Germany and beyond wherever there’s a shared vision for a greener future,” it said.

Six more successful bids are still to come in India’s green ammonia auction.
