H2-View News: Plug could supply 3GW of electrolysers to Australian green ammonia project

The MoU sets the scene for Plug to agree to develop a Basic Engineering and Design Package (BEDP) for Allied Green Ammonia’s (AGA) proposed green ammonia facility in the Northern Territory. Expected to produce 2,500 tonnes of green ammonia per day, the plant will use renewable energy and energy infrastructure in the Gove Peninsula, with a view to export to the Asian market. With the BEDP expected to advance this month (May 2024), the pair intend to make final investment decision (FID) in Q4 2025, with electrolyser deliveries planned to start in Q1 2027. AGA previously said it expected to [...]

H2-View News: UK Government funds 100MW electrolysis project in Ukraine

It was secured through InnovateUkraine, funded by the UK International Development and hosted by British Embassy Kyiv. The hydrogen production project will have an initial electrolysis capacity of 100MW. H2U will ensure a renewable hydrogen plant is constructed, dedicated to producing renewable electricity and green hydrogen for domestic needs and European export. H2 View understands solar and wind farms with capacities of 120MW and 80MW, respectively, will be developed too. In addition to this, underground hydrogen storage facilities was be examined to ensure energy supply. A comprehensive feasibility study will be undertaken by UK-based AB5 Consulting and technical lead of [...]

H2-View News: Electrolyser safety and quality is imperative to clean hydrogen build-out, says whitepaper

The Ensuring Process Safety and Product Quality in Water Electrolysis Using Oxygen, Hydrogen and Moisture Analysers paper, hosted on H2 View said, “A slight misstep in this intricate dance can disrupt its entire performance, jeopardising equipment and personal safety.” “In-line analysers are vital in achieving this goal by providing continuous monitoring and real-time data on critical parameters like moisture and oxygen content.” During electrolysis, there must be a perfect separation between hydrogen and oxygen, meaning continuous and accurate monitoring of the gases and moisture content becomes essential. In addition, hydrogen is highly flammable meaning leaks from faulty equipment connections or [...]

H2-View News: KGS certifies Plug Power’s liquid hydrogen tank and trailers

The company will receive certification for ASME Section XII and ASME Section VIII Div. 1, which is required to build liquid hydrogen storage tanks in South Korea. H2 View understands that three liquid hydrogen bulk storage tanks have arrived in the country, and Plug is preparing to ship its first liquid hydrogen trailer to South Korea later this month. Both the tanks and trailers have been manufactured in Texas, the US, and were designed to meet specific Korean regulations. Earlier this week, Plug announced it had secured the first international safety and performance certification in South Korea for PEM electrolyser [...]

H2-View News: Industry calls for resumption of German hydrogen mobility funding amid nepotism probe

In a letter to Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Transport Minister Volker Wissing, Finance Minister Christian Lindner, and Climate Minister Robert Habeck, organisations warned that Germany was on the verge of missing transport sector climate targets by not using hydrogen. The group of industry players including H2 Mobility, Honda, Toyota, Hydrogen Europe and more pleaded to the government to “immediately resume the promotion of hydrogen mobility” and approve funding applications that have already been submitted. “Germany is a leading market for hydrogen applications and thus the local technological leadership is at stake,” the letter reads. It comes after the Transport Ministry (BMDV) [...]

H2-View News: FCE and Toyota Tri-gen project officially opened in Port of Long Beach

Having completed construction last year (2023), FCE said the site has been supplying Toyota with hydrogen fuel since January (2024). Using biogas to produce electricity, hydrogen and water, the FCE Tri-gen system will support Toyota Logistics Services’ (TLS) vehicle processing and distribution centre at Long Beach. The system uses FCE’s carbonate fuel cell technology to convert biogas from landfill sites into electricity, hydrogen and water. Capable of generating up to 1,200kg of hydrogen per day, the system will fuel Toyota’s incoming light-duty Mirai fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs), as well as supply a nearby heavy-duty hydrogen station, fuelling TLS’ logistics [...]
