H2-View News: Charbone secures water and power for flagship Quebec green hydrogen project

The connection, carried out by Hydro-Quebec, sets the stage for hydrogen production equipment to be installed at the Sorel-Tracy project. In parallel, the Sorel-Tracy Water Department has finished installing a 14-inch main water later into the site, which will have enough capacity to support all five planned project phases. Contractors have also now begun work ahead of production equipment arriving in the coming weeks. “We are proud of progress to date and remain on track to commence production this fall,” said President and CEO Dave Gagnon. In its first phase, Sorel-Tracy will produce around 400kg of hydrogen per year, using [...]

H2-View News: Jakson Green wins SECI’s sixth green ammonia auction with record ₹50.75/kg bid

The New Delhi-based energy company will supply 85,000 tonnes of hydrogen-based ammonia per year to Coromandel International’s fertiliser plant in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh. The ₹50.75/kg ($580/tonne) bid now sits at the very bottom of the price range, breaking the previous record low of ₹51.80/kg set by NTPC in the second auction. The bid was part of India’s first green ammonia tender under the Sight scheme, Mode-2A, Tranche-I, where SECI is securing supply for 13 fertiliser plants across the country to help the energy transition. The SECI stated that the combination of smart policy, reliable buyers, and transparent auction is creating [...]

H2-View News: German operator forced back to diesel as fuel cell shortage sidelines hydrogen fleet

An EVB spokesperson confirmed to H2 View that only four of the operator’s 14 Alstom Coradia iLint units are still in operation. The hydrogen-powered trains usually operate on the RB33 line between Cuxhaven, Bremerhaven, Bremervörde and Buxtehude. However, the delay in sourcing fuel cell technology has meant EVB must rely on its diesel backup fleet. The state of Lower Saxony provides up to seven diesel units for EVB’s use, but the operator said not all are available at once. Furthermore, even at full capacity they cannot replace the out-of-service hydrogen multiple units (HEMUs), according to the spokesperson. “The situation with [...]

H2-View News: Westport targets China hydrogen growth as Western markets cool

In its Q2 2025 earnings call, Westport reported that over 50% of its high-pressure controls and systems revenue now comes from China, almost entirely from hydrogen components. Westport’s High-Pressure Controls & Systems (HPCS) revenue fell from $3.6m in Q2 2024 to $2.9m in Q2 2025, a drop the company linked to a global hydrogen market slowdown. The segment supplies hydrogen valves, regulators, and other high-pressure components. “We see the hydrogen development continuing in China at a fast pace,” said Daniel Sceli, CEO of Westport. “We’ve seen it slow down everywhere else.” China is already the world’s most advanced fuel cell [...]

H2-View News: ITM posts record revenue and backlog as focus shifts to profitable hydrogen projects

For FY2025, revenue rose 50% year-on-year to £26m ($35.3m), more than quadrupling over the past two years and falling within upgraded guidance. The company ended the year with a contracted order backlog of £145.1m ($197m), up from £79.7m ($108.5m), with 60% comprising profitable contracts compared to a majority of loss-making legacy projects a year ago. ITM expects the backlog of legacy projects to be reduced throughout 2026 and 2027 to leave only profitable projects. For FY2026, it expects a 50% increase in revenues to £35m–£40m ($47.5m–$54.3m). Despite the revenue increases, losses widened with an adjusted EBITDA deficit of £33m ($44.8m), [...]

H2-View News: Refire acquires 30.3% stake in former Cummins Chinese electrolyser JV

Reports value the 30.3% stake in Enze Hydrogen at around $14m, alongside a separate $9.6m acquisition of 70% of Seraph Refire, bolstering Refire’s position in northwestern China’s Ningxia hydrogen hub. The US engine manufacturer Cummins exited its Chinese electrolyser joint venture last month, ending a partnership it launched in 2021 with China Petrochemicals under the name Cummins Enze. Following Cummins’ exit, Enze Fund took a 60.6% majority stake, with Refire holding most of the remainder. Sinopec Capital, a major shareholder in Refire, also holds stakes in Enze Fund. The move is part of the Shanghai-based hydrogen fuel cell firm’s bid [...]

Under a joint development agreement, the pair plans to build green hydrogen and ammonia production facilities in Kandla, Gujarat. L&T acquired land in Kandla last year with plans to set up clean fuel projects. The Japanese trading major intends to offtake the green ammonia output for bunkering applications in Singapore, as it looks to supply the clean fuel to the maritime sector. Itochu has already announced plans to demonstrate ammonia bunkering in Singapore after October 2027 as it eyes commercial operations by 2028. “Kandla, located on the west coast of India, will become the principal production centre of green ammonia [...]
