The Heartland Hydrogen Hub has secured the first $20m of the $925m it was allocated in 2023, while the Mid-Atlantic Hydrogen Hub (MACH2) was awarded $18.8m of the total $750m. The announcement came on January 17. MACH2, located in Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey, plans to produce green hydrogen for industrial applications and heavy-duty transportation, with several refuelling locations planned to serve trucks and fuel cell electric buses. H2-View News: UK HyRES awards £3m to advance hydrogen-based innovation projects
Handed out through the university’s UK Hub for Research Challenges in Hydrogen and Alternative Liquid Fuels (UK HyRES), the funding is expected to support the development of hydrogen technologies in the country. “This gives UK HyRES a comprehensive base of top-tier research expertise to help answer the key questions around how we can use hydrogen and zero-carbon alternative liquid fuels to help reach Net Zero,” said Professor Tim Mays, commenting on the funding. H2-View News: Sungrow secures electrolyser deal for Oman green ammonia project
Under a supply agreement with ACME Group, the Chinese electrolyser manufacturer will provide multiple sets of 1000Nm3/hr of alkaline equipment, which they expect to deliver this year. ACME has stated that the green ammonia project will begin operations in 2026, initially producing up to 300 tonnes per day of the the green hydrogen carrier. H2-View News: Clean Hydrogen Partnership launches €184.5m call for proposal to boost European supply chain
Entering its technology upscaling phase, the partnership will fund projects to achieve cost-effective green hydrogen production, develop hydrogen storage solutions or deliver reliable and scalable fuel cell systems for heavy-duty vehicles and maritime applications. Up to €80m will be allocated to the Hydrogen Valleys initiative; €40m ($41.2m) for renewable hydrogen production; €16m ($16.4m) for hydrogen storage and distribution; €17m ($17.5m) for transport applications; €5m ($5.2m) for heat and power; and €6.5m ($6.7m) for cross-cutting activities. H2-View News: Green Hydrogen Systems’ restructuring costs double beyond original estimates
The firm now expects to incur costs of DKK 215m ($29.6m) to 230m ($31.7m) after originally estimating DKK 100 ($13.8m) to 150m ($20.7m). As a result, GHS has adjusted its FY2024 guidance to DKK -485m (-$66.9m) to -500m (-$69m) increasing from DKK -300m (-$41.4m) to -400m (-$55.2m). Excluding the restructuring costs, it said EBITDA would be DKK -260m (-$35.8m) to -275m (-$37.9m) from DKK -220m (-$30.3m) to -260m (-$35.8m).
