The new venture will focus on the Nordic region, where the companies will develop a joint framework for fleet operators located at nearby Norwegian Hydrogen sites, to enable the transition to hydrogen.
The partnership intends to offer the production and purchase of green hydrogen, distribution and hydrogen refuelling stations and provide customers with the supply and aftersales of vehicles.
Per Øyvind Voie, Norwegian Hydrogen Managing Director, said, “Trucks need refuelling stations – and refuelling stations need trucks. This makes the partnership between our two companies a perfect match.”
Voie said the first trucks and refuelling stations ordered on the basis of the partnership will be revealed soon.
One of Norwegian Hydrogen’s pilots is its Hellesylt Hydrogen Hub in Norway, announced in 2019.
If the 14 tonne per day hydrogen production was used to abate emissions in the transportation sector, the company claims it would remove 9,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) a year. This would provide more than 9m km of emission-free heavy road transport a year.
Norwegian Hydrogen also announced a partnership with US-based FirstElement Fuel and Japanese company Mitsui to build a Nordic-wide network of hydrogen refuelling stations, and this partnership will assist in accelerating the rollout.

Bill Moss, H2X Global’s Head of Sale & Marketing, said, “The transition to Net Zero carbon transport through hydrogen is vital to help eliminate the growing emissions from the transport sector.
“This sector accounts for 23% of global energy-related CO2 emissions and is the fastest-growing contributor to climate change. Collaboration between hydrogen producers like Norwegian Hydrogen and a commercial manufacturer like H2X is crucial to the reduction of zero emissions and offering fleet owners a good alternative.”
The signing of the MoU follows H2X Global’s recent announcement through its subsidiary H2X Gothenburg for the supply of vehicles in the 3.5 tonne, 5 tonne and 18 tonne categories.
The first vehicles aim to be launched at the end of 2023 and all vehicles operational by 2025, supporting the production of vehicles for the Northern European regions.

A Successful Ecosystem for Green Hydrogen – London
It is becoming ever clearer that the entire green hydrogen ecosystem requires alignment. Hydrogen’s potential, performance, and safety are proven. Green hydrogen is widely accepted as a core pathway to Net Zero, yet the key levers in the transition are not yet in-sync.
At H2 View we recognise the increasingly challenging economic climate that various countries/economies are currently facing. We want to help as many companies as possible in the hydrogen space to achieve their needs as competitively and logically as possible. As a result, we felt it was a compelling decision to relocate our previously planned event in Iceland, to a venue in London.
Join H2 View in London, one of the foremost investment capitals of the world, for a 1.5-day event devoted to thought leadership, insights, and actionable takeaways in the green hydrogen ecosystem, combined with the connections and networking to deliver against those objectives.
This H2 View hydrogen summit is dedicated to dissecting the ecosystem requirements to truly realise a green hydrogen-fuelled future across industries, transport, and society. This event will tackle all sides of the energy ecosystem, from wind and solar power requirements to additionality, water sustainability, electrolyser technologies, and investment and policy climate.
