HyGear is a leader in modular steam and methane reforming (SMR) technology and electrolysis for hydrogen generation in the glass, semiconductor, food and beverage industry and in the transport sector.

HoSt’s core portfolio is a set of carbon-neutral and carbon-negative clean energy technologies for decentralised renewable gas, renewable heat, renewable power generation and includes carbon capture technology compatible with HyGear’s SMR technology.

Jelle Klein Teeselink, CEO at HoSt Group, said, “Combining these companies lead to a unification of proprietary, complementary energy technology resources, driving the decarbonisation and energy transition.

“It establishes a fundamental knowledge base and pathway for the vital acceleration of renewable gases and renewable hydrogen development and deployment across different markets and geographies. It also provides us with a strong footprint in Asia through their location in Singapore.”

The consolidation of technologies will enable HyGear to accelerate the next stage of growth and provides HoSt with an exclusive, comprehensive and competitive solution across different renewable gas technologies.

Last year, HyGear partnered with Haskel Hydrogen Systems Group to offer combined hydrogen generation and refuelling infrastructure to the European market.

The companies plan to leverage on Haskel’s refuelling system experience and HyGear’s hydrogen production expertise to provide end-to-end refuelling stations.

The partnership will initially focus on the market in western Europe and vehicle classes including HGVs, buses, refuse trucks, forklifts, light commercial vehicles and rail.
