Role Description/Responsibilities
Membership processes: You support the membership processes of the Hydrogen Council. More specifically, you are responsible for managing the inbox of the Secretariat, making sure that each incoming message will be dealt with appropriately, efficiently and conform to the ethical codes and guidelines of the Council. Furthermore, you assist in keeping the membership database up-to-date, in scheduling events and meetings, and in sending out communications to the members of the Hydrogen Council;
Governance processes: You support the planning and organisation of key meetings of decision bodies of the Hydrogen Council such as the Management Board and the Coordination Committee. Your activities include a.o. sending out meeting invites, the preparation and distribution of materials;
Council operations: You provide generic support to the operations and activities of the Hydrogen Council, including the organisation and preparation of meetings for the various project teams, arranging for travel and accommodation for traveling Secretariat team members etc.;
Your role is flexible and dynamic in its nature;
You operate in an international setting with English as the de facto standard language
Qualifications
Service minded: You are passionate about serving and taking care of the needs of the members of the Hydrogen Council. It is your nature to be service oriented, and to aim for a quality and high-level experience in each interaction;
You have excellent organisational, planning and communication skills. You have a strong drive and excel in problem solving. You have a structured approach when dealing with matters assigned to you. You pay attention to detail and the need to follow-up on activities and stay in control of their progress;
You are polite and professional: often you will be the person responsible for the first impression people have when contacting the Hydrogen Council;
You show both sensitivity and diplomacy and are able to adapt your approach within the midst of situations, in order to build or maintain positive relationships. You are looking forward to being part of a high-level, international and multicultural setting that requires a flexible, diplomatic, and tactful mindset;
You remain calm and professional under dynamic work loads. You are able to cope with a variety of activities, sometimes changing priorities and urgencies. You are comfortable with change and knows how to respond to the need to alter your pace to meet output or deadline requirements;
You have a desire to actively contribute to the mission of the Hydrogen Council and are genuinely interested in the role of hydrogen in the future energy mix;
Education: higher education – university degree or other – candidates from a variety of backgrounds will be considered;
Experience: a first professional experience in a similar position (international association management, or a stakeholder management organisation) is recommended;
Language skills: excellent written and oral communication skills in English is a must. Candidates need to be able to contribute to the production of high-level materials (reports, presentations);
Other: well developed competencies in the usual range of IT tools (e.g. MS Office), open to learn additional tools.

Expected start date: as soon as available
Remuneration: competitive, based on experience
Location: Brussels
Under permissible circumstances travel might be required e.g. to attend international member events (not more than a few times per year)
