Its first project comes in the form of a joint venture with an unnamed Singaporean investment firm and an unnamed local Malaysian project developer, which seeks to biochar production.

Using a thermochemical process, the joint venture hopes to convert biomass materials such as forest and agricultural waste into syngas which can be used for multiple processes, including hydrogen, low-carbon ammonia, and renewable energy.

H2 View understands, the project located in the state of Terengganu, Malaysia is expected to produce over 1.5 tonnes of biochar per day, using renewable electricity for internal power consumption.

Patriot Hydrogen plans to install and commission the plant before the first quarter of 2023.

In June 2021, Patriot revealed it was set to supply its biomass-to-hydrogen units to Port Anthony Renewables to supply green hydrogen to domestic and future international markets.
