The Hydrogen Council, the world’s largest and only CEO-led global alliance comprising leading businesses and investors in hydrogen, is recruiting a highly motivated (Senior) Events Officer to contribute to its mission.
We are looking for an highly organized, innovative and entrepreneurial colleague with mastery of (digital) event management tools, passion for innovation in event organisation, a strong membership service mindset and proven ability to work seamlessly across markets and cultures.
As (Senior) Events Officer, you will be part of the Council’s Operations team, reporting to our Events Manager and working closely with our Head of Operations as well as our global team currently based out of Belgium, Germany, Spain and the UK, our members, partners and vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to effective and efficient event planning, organisation and delivery under the direction of the Events Manager and in close collaboration with Hydrogen Council Head of Operations, team, members and vendors (e.g. venues, agencies)
- Support the development of event concepts, project plans, timelines, action lists and other tools required for effective project management and smooth event delivery
- Track and coordinate event delivery milestones, communicate with internal teams, members and vendors to ensure alignment on event requirements and timely updates
- Assist in managing event information including registrations, attendee and speaker lists
- Support event setup preparation for layouts, room diagrams, seating charts, and setup details in collaboration with relevant vendors
- Provide on-site assistance during events, including registration support and troubleshooting
- Maintain accurate and well-organized records and complete post-event documentation and reporting, including evaluation and feedback reports
- Support budget tracking, including monitoring supplier costs and reconciling invoices in coordination with accounting
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of event processes, templates, and best practices
- Support sustainability and accessibility considerations across events, in line with organizational priorities
- Seamlessly collaborate with other Hydrogen Council workstreams to leverage their expertise and experience for outstanding event outcomes (e.g. Research, Advocacy, Communications, Marketplace).

Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 5-10 years of professional experience serving in a diversity of roles within event management, ideally in membership-driven environments. Experience with executive-level business events (e.g. board meetings, strategy off-sites) is a plus.
- Please note: The role title – Events Officer or Senior Events Officer – will be adjusted based on the chosen candidate’s experience.
- Education: University degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Tourism Management, Event Management or similar (specific field is open depending on relevant experience).
- Language: Native-equivalent or full professional proficiency in English. Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
- Technical proficiency: Proficiency in event management tools and platforms, with a knack for identifying and deploying digital tools for efficiency and impact.
- Team player: Collaborative, adaptable, and able to work effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and members to achieve shared objectives.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail: Comfortable developing and managing processes and databases, ensuring high levels of accuracy and efficiency.
- Service mindset: Strong fit for a membership-based organization with a demonstrated ability to thrive in a member-driven, multi-stakeholder environment.
- Professional conduct: Diplomacy, discretion, tact and ability to represent the Council and its leadership towards a diverse range of members, partners, vendors as well as external stakeholders.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multicultural, and hybrid work environment. Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively across different time zones and adapt to varying work requirements.
- Flexibility: Given the Council’s global nature with member companies across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC, a high degree of flexibility is required for accommodating meeting times and fostering collaborative relationships.
- Travel: Willingness to travel, depending on the candidate’s location.
Other Information
- Contract type: full-time employee
- Expected start date: as soon as available. Please indicate your potential earliest start date and notice length (if applicable).
- Remuneration: competitive, based on experience
- Location: hybrid position, with a preference for candidates in or close to Central European (CET) time zone and with the ability to travel to Brussels and work with the Hydrogen Council team in person on agreed occasions.
