The company has invited market players to contribute to the 2026-2035 plan, which will aim to outline the development of the country’s infrastructure alongside Europe’s emerging networks. It will be open until March 13.
The action is required under Poland’s Energy Law, which obliges operators to reveal plans covering current and future demand for fuels, increasing transparency in the energy sector.
The ten-year plan covers three main areas: development of the national hydrogen transmission system, adaptation of existing gas infrastructure, and cross-border connections.
Gaz-System is involved in two European Commission-recognised Projects of Common Interest. The first being the Poland-Germany hydrogen cluster, which received €190,000 ($224,400) from the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environmental Executive Agency, and the Nord-Baltic hydrogen pipeline, which was awarded €6.8m ($8m) in funding for its feasibility phase.
In October 2025, the Polish state committed more than €500m ($590.5m) to developing domestic hydrogen projects.
The country’s state-owned oil major Orlen has also been ramping up its hydrogen plan, including electrolyser facilities, refuelling stations, and exploring importing volumes from Nordic producers.
