Tyczka Hydrogen acquires German refuelling stations from MorGen

The two stations in Giengen an der Brenz, Baden-Württemberg, and Hallstadt, Bavaria, will add to Tyczka’s two under-development sites in Augsburg and Ravensburg, as it looks to ramp up hydrogen demand in the mobility segment.

While the acquisition’s value has not been revealed, the company expects to complete the deal in January 2026.

Both stations are equipped with 350 and 700 bar dispensing capacity and will undergo upgrades to “enhance performance” for heavy-duty vehicles.

The Giengen an der Brenz station opened in May 2024 at the site of a JET Mobility Hub, while the Hallstadt site in the Cleantech Innovation Park entered construction in January 2025.

Tyczka will supply both stations with green hydrogen from its network of sources. The German industrial gas subsidiary is currently building a 5MW green hydrogen production and refuelling site in Schweinfurt, which is due online by the end of 2026.

In October, it also acquired an operational 3.2MW green hydrogen production and refuelling facility in Völs, Austria.

While many industrial gas majors focus on existing industries for clean hydrogen offtake, Tyczka told H2 View mobility can “unlock the entire hydrogen ecosystem.”

Its primary focus is on Central Europe as it looks to capitalise on funding schemes like the Bavarian government’s programme, which covers up to 80% of additional investment costs compared to diesel when purchasing or leasing hydrogen trucks.
