Hydrogen truck lobbyist H2Accelerate is calling for European policymakers to treat hydrogen internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles the same as fuel cell and electric alternatives.

In a new whitepaper, the group made up of OEMs, gas suppliers, and oil and gas majors said hydrogen ICE vehicles had been “excluded” from incentivising mechanisms, despite their potential to cut emissions and manufacturing costs.
