Regulatory uncertainty clouds EU–Oman hydrogen trade, Minister says

For all the talk about relaxing green hydrogen production requirements in Europe, Oman’s Minister for Energy and Minerals had a different message for European Hydrogen Week: stop changing the rules.

Salim Bin Nasser Al Aufi took his keynote opportunity at the event to spell out the steps his government had been taking to facilitate large-scale hydrogen production in the Gulf nation.

From supporting project logistics, allocating land, building common infrastructure and more, Hydrom – Oman’s hydrogen ‘orchestrator’ – is looking to meet the Sultanate’s goal of producing one million tonnes of green hydrogen by 2030.
