‘Hydrogen cannot be the next solar PV,’ Agfa CEO warns as new Zirfon plant opens

Agfa-Gevaert has officially opened its newly expanded alkaline electrolyser membrane plant in Belgium, while urging policymakers to accelerate Europe’s green hydrogen rollout.

The EU-backed plant at the speciality materials firm’s headquarters in Mortsel has been designed to manufacture enough of its Zirfon membranes to support 20GW of electrolysis annually.
